Commission consults on post-trade services and the CMU

In 2001, the European Commission identified certain barriers relating to post-trade services, and although major changes have taken place in the capital markets such as  EMIR, CSDR and SFTR), no review had been undertaken.

The Commission has now published a consultation paper on post-trade services in the CMU in order to understand stakeholders’ views on the:

The Commission is focusing on how technological changes impact on the markets, but seeks views on all trends that drive the evolution of post-trade markets.  It is also keen to understand the main trends shaping post-trade services internationally. Responses to the consultation paper are due by 15 November 2017, the feedback on which will contribute towards the Commission’s communication on post-trade in late 2017.
