EBA publishes further Opinion on SCA implementation deadline

Following the EBA Opinion on the implementation of SCA requirements under PSD2, and the indication of a possible grace period at the discretion of NCAs, the EBA has published a further Opinion providing further details on the position.

In its latest Opinion, the EBA has now gone further. It has set a positive deadline for migration to SCA of 31 December 2020, and also:

  • set out a number of steps to be taken during the migration period, and
  • recommended that NCAs should take a consistent approach to the SCA migration period, and require PSPs in their jurisdictions to carry out the steps set out.
