The Financial Markets Law Commission has published a report in which it evaluates some of the live issues and considerations in relation to exchange tokens and virtual currencies.
The report provides an overview of matters such as the issue of classification of virtual currencies, particularly relative to the existing regulatory perimeter, and the implications attendant on the implementation of the Fifth Money Laundering Directive.
