FATF has published a report on virtual assets red flag indicators of money laundering and terrorist financing. The report focuses on:
- technological features that increase anonymity;
- geographical risks;
- transaction patterns;
- transaction size;
- sender or recipient portfolios; and
- SOF/SOW.
The report complements the 2019 publication giving guidance for a risk-based approach to virtual assets and virtual asset service providers.
