The Government has announced a new free trade agreement between the UK and Japan, which it says will increase trade with Japan by an estimated £15.2 bn. For financial services, there will be improved market access and a streamlined process for UK firms wanting to operate in Japan, and the respective regulators will work together to explore ways to “further reduce regulatory friction”.
