HMRC has published an updated list of businesses that are not compliant with the MLRs. All but one were fines on mainly estate agencies and accountancy service providers that had failed to register, but one, a fine of over £1m was on a money services business for failings in policies and procedures.
Separately, HMRC has published its Economic Crime Supervision handbook, which explains to its staff how to undertake their role but is also useful for others to understand how HMRC applies sanctions.
