Check out our newly updated Corporate timeline for 2025

We have launched our recently updated Corporate timeline for 2025 on the Womble Bond Dickinson website. The timeline covers key legislation and legal developments in both corporate and company law from January 2025 onwards.

The timeline focuses on the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA) 2023. Some key ECCTA implementation dates include:

  • 25 February 2025: Companies House intends to open the application process for Authorised Corporate Service Providers to register to provide identity verification services
  • 25 March 2025: Individuals (new directors, LLP members, persons with significant control (PSCs) and relevant officers of registered legal entities) should be able to verify their identity on a voluntary basis
  • 1 September 2025: new corporate offence of failure to prevent fraud
  • Autumn 2025: compulsory identity on incorporation for all directors and PSCs plus 12-month transition period for existing directors and PSCs
