The FCA has updated its website with details on the appointed representatives population and activity.
There are currently around 34,000 active ARs and around 2,500 principals – both figures showing a slight decrease in the past year.
Since 2021, consistently the largest number of ARs have been in consumer finance, with the number in general insurance gradually decreasing. The number of consumer investments remains steady, at currently a broadly similar number to general insurance, with very small numbers in other areas. The most revenue, however, continues to come from general insurance for regulated services, and from the wholesale financial markets, consumer finance and general insurance for nonregulated services.
The FCA has also updated its webpages on ARs with some navigational changes.
