FCA publishes Open Finance Sprint report

The FCA has published a report setting out the outcomes of the Open Finance Sprint it held in March 2025.

The sprint aimed on practical data-sharing use cases for supporting four opportunity areas: financial wellbeing; financial growth; financial resilience; and better consumer empowerment through digital verification.

Adaptive regulation and governance, flexible frameworks supporting innovation while ensuring consumer protection and enhanced data security protocols were all identified as fundamental to building a mutually beneficial open finance system consumers can trust. The report also identified the importance of interoperability and cross-sector collaboration.

The FCA expects to publish a road map for open finance, as well as a research note summarising findings from its other research projects.
