Shoib Khan has set out the PRA’s plans for the UK captive regime, in advance of it publishing its long-awaited consultation. He noted that if properly structured, captives could advance both the primary and secondary objectives of the PRA. He said the plans aim to set out carefully drawn boundaries that meet the core purpose of captives, and create a clear, transparent and easy to navigate regime for firms. It has had useful discussions with stakeholders over topics such as capital and authorisation criteria, and still plans for the new regime to go live in 2027.
