The FCA is consulting on Handbook changes following its targeted support work. The changes are aimed at ensuring the proposals for targeted support work effectively with existing requirements, and include:
- Modifying Glossary definitions to refer to targeted support;
- Adding targeted support to the examples of the business activities and functions of an SMCR firm to consider when preparing a management responsibilities map;
- Clarifying how COBS and ICOBS rules will apply;
- Proposing that pensions dashboard service firms cannot offer or provide targeted support as a post-view service;
- Applying SUP reporting requirements; and
- Other amendments to ensure the Handbook appropriately refers to targeted support.
The consultation closes on 17 October 2025.
