FCA consults on targeted support Handbook amendments

The FCA is consulting on Handbook changes following its targeted support work. The changes are aimed at ensuring the proposals for targeted support work effectively with existing requirements, and include:

• Modifying Glossary definitions to refer to targeted support;
• Adding targeted support to the examples of the business activities and functions of an SMCR firm to consider when preparing a management responsibilities map;
• Clarifying how COBS and ICOBS rules will apply;
• Proposing that pensions dashboard service firms cannot offer or provide targeted support as a post-view service;
• Applying SUP reporting requirements; and
• Other amendments to ensure the Handbook appropriately refers to targeted support.

The consultation closes on 17 October 2025.
