The FOS annual report for 2025-6 notes that the past year saw the biggest change to the FOS funding model since it was created 25 years ago, together with the work on reform of the redress system. The past year saw a fall in both new enquiries and new cases, with an increase in cases resolved within 6 months to 77% and a significant decrease in cases brought by CMCs/professional representatives – now only 18%. My far the most of its 215,000 cases related to banking and consumer credit (158,000), with insurance second (45.000). It has exceeded its targets on timeliness and has reduced its very old cases by increasing its resource available to deal with them.
