Sanctions and economic crime update 4 March

Late on 3 March and on 4 March:

• FCDO and OFSI confirmed the extension of sanctions to Russian oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Igor Shuvalov; and
• BEIS published an updated factsheet on the register of overseas entities;
• the Treasury Committee opened an inquiry on the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia;
• OFSI published a general licence on the wind down of positions involving designated banks; and
• amendments continued to be proposed to the Economic Crime Bill.
