The Register of Overseas Entities (Delivery, Protection and Trust Services) Regulations 2022 were made on 25 July. They specifically:
- cater for electronic delivery of documents required;
- list circumstances in which the registrar must make information on a relevant individual unavailable for public inspection or disclose protected information and sets out the grounds and procedures for making relevant applications; and
- provides for the circumstances in which overseas trust services providers will be registrable beneficial owners.
The Regulations take effect on the day s3 of the Economic Crime Act comes into force.
