The latest edition of Ombudsman News from FOS highlights:
- the recent appointment of a new Deputy Chief Ombudsman and COO, both of whom will take up their roles by October; and
- FOS’ new guidance on the treatment of complaints about gambling-related harm. Among the complaints FOS deals with are those from consumers who say it should have been obvious to their lenders that repayments would be unaffordable because of the consumer’s gambling habit, lack of support from financial institutions, and cases where a consumer has asked their bank to put a block on their account to prevent certain payments, but the blocks have not worked.
