FCA has released data showing the number of new whistleblowing reports received, mainly through its online reporting function, in Q3 and Q4 of 2023.
Between July and September 2023:
- There were 280 new whistleblowing reports, a fall from the 300 received between April and June 2023, and from the 291 received in the same period in 2022.
- The most frequent allegations were to do with compliance, the culture of the organisation, fitness and propriety, and treating customers fairly.
Between October and December 2023:
- There were 249 new whistleblowing reports, a fall from the 280 received between July and September 2023, and from the 276 received in the same period in 2022.
- The most frequent allegations were to do with compliance, fitness and propriety, the culture of the organisation, and the Consumer Duty.
