FCA updates whistleblowing data

FCA has released data showing the number of new whistleblowing reports received, mainly through its online reporting function, in Q3 and Q4 of 2023.

Between July and September 2023:

  • There were 280 new whistleblowing reports, a fall from the 300 received between April and June 2023, and from the 291 received in the same period in 2022.
  • The most frequent allegations were to do with compliance, the culture of the organisation, fitness and propriety, and treating customers fairly.

Between October and December 2023:

  • There were 249 new whistleblowing reports, a fall from the 280 received between July and September 2023, and from the 276 received in the same period in 2022.
  • The most frequent allegations were to do with compliance, fitness and propriety, the culture of the organisation, and the Consumer Duty.
