FCA updates sustainability and disclosure labelling regime webpage

The FCA has updated its sustainability and disclosure labelling regime webpage to include information on notifications when using an investment label.

The update also includes details of applications to make associated changes to a fund’s name, investment objectives or policy.

The FCA’s new anti-greenwashing rules and guidance took effect on 31 May. Investment labels can be displayed from 31 July 2024, and firms must meet naming and marketing rules from 2 December 2024.

When using, revising or stopping use of an investment label, firms must notify the FCA through its Connect system.

Before notification, firms should check which of the following scenarios should apply to them:

  • Authorised fund considered to meet the label criteria without changes to the fund’s name, investment objectives, policy and/or strategy;
  • Authorised fund considered to require changes;
  • New fund considered to meet the label criteria; or
  • In-scope unauthorised AIFs.

Firms should then follow the steps set out for each scenario to make the correct notification.
