Artis Finance becomes latest non-bank lender to enter administration

Artis Finance Limited has become the latest non-bank trade finance outfit to enter administration.

James Cameron, Tom Crookham and Edward Macnamara of PwC were appointed joint administrators of the London finance provider on 3 March 2025 by the High Court. Its subsidiaries – including Artis Loanco 1, an entity which provides loans secured against trade receivables – have not entered insolvency processes at this time.

Records also show that Artis Finance has outstanding charges registered against it in connection with commodity trader DL Hudson, and that Artis Loanco had set aside funds for a $7.1m impairment towards the end of 2023.

The collapse follows the failures of Stenn in December 2024 , and other similar providers in the trade finance sector.
