HM Treasury has published a report on the progress of the Women in Finance Charter signatories, and how they can accelerate.
On average, signatories increased female representation in senior management to 36% in 2024, in line with the one percentage point year-on-year since the Charter launched in 2016.
The Treasury calls for increased progress, however, as over the same time period around 1/3 of signatories decreased their population of women in management, the largest number since the Charter launched. It also notes that it is not realistic to assume that firms performing well will maintain a consistent annual increase in order to reach parity by 2038, particularly as data shows that reaching targets can act as a ceiling.
