The Treasury Select Committee will hold a one-off oral evidence session with the leaders of four major insurance firms on the state of the insurance industry.
MPs are seeking to understand the main challenges, concerns and opportunities facing the sector and its customers, and may query the interviewees on their view of the Government’s approach to financial services, including whether they believe the Mansion House Accord is likely to have the desired effect on economic growth.
Other topics may include: how insurers are planning for the impacts of climate-related risks and the possibility of ‘uninsurable’ circumstances; pricing; the Consumer Duty; and the use of AI by insurers.
The witnesses will be:

- Jon Walker – CEO, AXA Commercial – AXA
- Jason Storah – CEO, UK General Insurance – Aviva
- Jeremy Ward
- Managing Director, Insurance – Lloyds Banking Group
- Managing Director, General Insurance – Scottish Widows
