Berne Financial Services Agreement takes effect

The Berne Financial Services Agreement (BFSA) took effect on 1 January 2026, and aims to make it easier for UK and Swiss firms to do business in each other’s country.

The FCA has published and information page setting out guidelines for firms and how they should apply.

The PRA has also published its Operational Direction and Guidelines for UK Insurers’ Section IV Notifications.
