Treasury, with the City of London Corporation, has published the first annual review of UK financial services. The report looks at the successes of the financial sector, not least as an international hub, at the forefront of innovation and working to “green” the financial system. It looks also at challenges and plans for the future, not least through the FSM Bill. The report looks at levels of business, work the regulators do to monitor markets and what has been and will be done to strengthen sectors and the UK economy. It looks, among other things, at capital raising, insurance and funds products, and the perception and effectiveness of regulatory oversight.
