Economic Crime Bill continues Lords progress

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill is continuing its progress through the House of Lords, with its second reading on 8 February. During the reading, there was significant discussion about fraud prevention, and specifically the corporate criminal offence. Lord Sharpe reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to a new “failure to prevent” offence, and said amendments would be brought forward in Committee and shared as soon as possible.

No date has yet been announced for the Committee Stage.
