A delegated legislation Committee in Parliament debated the draft Economic Crime (Anti-Money Laundering) Levy (Amendment) Regulations 2023, which Andrew Griffith described as the final step in implementing the levy by providing the powers to:
- assess and calculate the levy due;
- enforce payment through financial penalties;
- make rules about information and record keeping, overpayments reviews and appeals.
On the whole, everyone supported the instrument, though many asked why it had not been made a long time ago.
