Lucy HadrillThe FCA has published an update report on its wholesale data market study. As a reminder, the FCA launched its market study in March 2023 to investigate competition problems in the markets for benchmarks, credit ratings data and market data vendor services.
The update report highlights various issues in these markets and comments on commercial practices that could increase complexity and reduce transparency in pricing and contractual terms. The FCA is making progress and is on track to publish its final report by 1 March 2024. It will not at this stage refer any of the markets covered by the market study to the CMA.
