The latest whistleblowing data from the FCA, covering the quarter to end June 2024, shows:
- 253 new reports received (fewer than the corresponding period last year and the last quarter), with nearly half of reports made via online reporting and a quarter via email;
- 72% of reporters shared their identity when reporting;
- the 253 reports contained 641 allegations – with over 50 allegations in respect of each of compliance, F&P, culture, and consumer detriment;
- the FCA closed 382 reports, taking significant action in respect of 7% of them and other action to reduce harm in 52%. A further 35% were informative for its work but have not resulted in any direct action.
