The NCA has published a new version of its SARs Reporter Booklet. The latest version focuses on DAMLs that were refused for further investigation and includes case studies including a request for a DAML to return funds when exiting a relationship which led to a forfeiture order as the suspect was found to have obtained fraudulent funds from social media scams. Another DAML for account closure following a discovery of fraudulent identity documents led to a restraint order on over £30,000 of funds following a discovery that the subject had used multiple new identities to claim benefits, set up companies and open accounts used to launder funds from the sale of goods fraudulently obtained using credit.
