Treasury updates on Women in Finance Charter progress

HM Treasury signed up to the Women in Finance Charter in 2016. Since then, its own female representation in senior management, as at March 2024, had increased from 43% to 50%. Treasury has been prioritising:

  • a long term action plan to help reduce the gender pay gap through key pay and non-pay actions;
  • improving and maintaining the representation of women in finance;
  • setting its own targets for woman in the Senior Civil Service. As well as the 50% representation, it reports that over 58% of its Executive Management Board positions are held by women; and
  • its own Women in the Treasury Network.

Over 400 firms are currently signed up to the Charter,
