The 4th Commencement Order for the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 brings into force:
- on 18 March, the remainder of the provisions on the procedure for verifying identity, authorisation of corporate service providers, allocation of unique identifiers, the registrar’s power to strike off a company registered on a false basis and the register of limited partnerships, so far as they are not already in force; and
- officially and fully, the failure to prevent fraud offence and related measures, from 1 September (including amending the previous commencement regulations which had not complied with the requirement that guidance must be published before a commencement order for the main offence can be made.
