FCA reviews transaction governance in wholesale banks

The FCA has carried out a review of transaction governance in 6 wholesale banks, seeing to check that firms have a clear framework and governance process for considering risks from transactions. It asked each bank to provide details of the 50 most recent transactions submitted to transaction governance committees, and from that examined firms’ processes for assessing risk.

It found no major problems, but did find some weaker approaches which risk greater inconsistency in decision making.
