The Home Office has heralded the effective date of the failure to prevent fraud offence. It said the offence is intended to encourage organisations to build anti-fraud cultures in the same way the Bribery Act has helped to improve corporate culture. The SFO said the offence is a significant new tool for prosecutors and that it is ready to act if corporates don’t comply with their responsibilities.
