Lucy Rigby has launched the UK-China Financial Working Group, which met in Beijing. She was accompanied by the Prime Minister and over 50 representatives from British businesses, including 11 financial and professional services firms. Commitments will make it easier for UK businesses to trade with China and strengthen London’s position as the world’s leading international financial hub. The Bank of China’s London Branch has been designated as the UK’s second renminbi clearing bank.
A UK-China financial roundtable also discussed financial market development and financial sector innovation.
