The Financial Services Regulation Committee is concerned about the provisions in the FSM Bill which remove the requirement for the PRA and FCA to “have regard” to regulatory principles and to show that they have done so when notifying the Committee of consultations. The Committee says that this proposal has had the possibly unintended consequence of making its work ineffective.
