BoE speaks on growth and inclusion

Andrew Bailey has spoken on why the UK needs stronger long-term growth, and how bank capital supports a resilient banking system. He looked at the potential that tokenisation and modernisation of payments laws present and the risks and opportunities of increasing and more sophisticated AI usage.

He said the BoE is working to get inflation back to target and is always looking about how growth can be achieved without “over-heating” the economy. He noted that regulation often has as its priority to maintain financial stability
