The FCA has published the fourth full year’s GI value measures data, for the calendar year 2025. It says (among other things):
- on home and travel insurance, claims complaints are still high compared with other retail insurance;
- claims acceptance rates on home insurance are relatively low, but the FCA is not sure these metrics are wholly accurate and is looking into how figures are presented;
- claims costs as a proportion of premium on travel claims increased across all 3 travel products;
- generally, though, there is a a significant variation in claims costs as a proportion of premium, with healthcare cash plans at 68% remaining the highest;
- motor premiums fell by 7%; and
- gadget insurance saw a fall in percentage of premiums paid in claims, largely driven by higher premium rates; and also policies in force fell by 5%.
