BoE publishes systemic risk survey results

The BoE has published the results of its systemic risk survey for H1 2026.  Respondents generally remained confident in the stability of the UK financial system, but noted:

  • geopolitical risk and cyber attack as the two main sources of risk, as usual, with geopolitical risk being at its highest risk level in terms of source of risk, the most challenging to manage and the most likely to materialise;
  • AI related risks have continued an upwards trend, with increasing respondents saying it is challenging to manage; and
  • inflation risk is not viewed as so critical after peaking in 2022.
