ABI and Fairer Finance announce “guide to clear communications”

ABI has worked with Fairer Finance to produce a guide to clear communications covering all aspects of how insurers communicate with their customers. Key recommendations include:

  • sentences should be under 29 words;
  • generally, no page should contain more than 400 words;
  • at least 3 colours should be used;
  • using headings that would answer likely lines of enquiry;
  • minimum sizes for font size and line spacing; and
  • minimal jargon.
