ABI has worked with Fairer Finance to produce a guide to clear communications covering all aspects of how insurers communicate with their customers. Key recommendations include:
- sentences should be under 29 words;
- generally, no page should contain more than 400 words;
- at least 3 colours should be used;
- using headings that would answer likely lines of enquiry;
- minimum sizes for font size and line spacing; and
- minimal jargon.
