FCA has decided to fine former Barclays CEO Jes Staley £1.8m and ban him from holding any senior management or significant influence function, after finding that, while he was CEO of Barclays, he had recklessly failed to correct two misleading statements relating to Jeffrey Epstein in a letter FCA had requested from Barclays seeking details of the relationship between Mr Staley and Mr Epstein. Mr Staley is appealing the decision to the Tribunal.
