FCA to open pre-application meetings for crypto firms

Cryptoasset firms preparing for the new authorisation regime under FSMA will be able to request pre-application meetings with the FCA from 11 May 2026 via the Pre-Application Support Service (PASS).

PASS meetings are free and allow firms to discuss plans with and ask questions to the regulator before submitting their authorisation or variation of permission applications.

Meetings requested in respect of the incoming crypto regime will take place from July 2026 but will be scheduled as requests land.
